Jose Mourinho believes Giovani Lo Celso has found his best performance after helping Tottenham beat Royal Antwerp 2-0 in the Europa League earlier this morning.

Lo Celso scored his fourth goal in the Europa League for Spurs to secure the top spot in Group J.

The Argentine national player also made important passes (four), attempts (four), passes in the opposing area (34), touch ball (72), tackle (three) and won the ball (12) more than any of his teammates.

Lo Celso suffered an injury earlier in the season but Spurs manager Mourinho said the midfielder was back at his best.

“It’s not about me, it’s about them. Gio, last season he reached a very high level. Then he was injured this season, pre-season action did not exist for him,” he said in a press conference.

“I have often said that Gio needs some time. He has that time. He played in the Europa League, often he came in as a substitute in the English Premier League (EPL). He played well in the last game and he played well tonight.

“It’s like Gio is back to normal because he is a very good player and when his physical condition is good, he can see his quality.

“Tonight is the day he proves that he is back and his intensity is there and his quality is also there,” he said.

EPL leader Tottenham will visit Crystal Palace this weekend.
