BERLIN: Robert Lewandowski surpassed 250 goals in the Bundesliga by two goals as Bayern Munich won 2-1 at home against Wolfsburg for the European champions to continue to chase their leader, Bayer Leverkusen.

Lewandowski, who will find out whether he has been selected as FIFA Annual Player of the Year with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi tomorrow, has scored 18 goals in 17 games for Bayern this season in all tournaments.

“I never thought about it (the award), I just focused on this match – I’m calm about it, let’s see what happens,” he told Sky.

Leverkusen, who will host Bayern in the league clash on Saturday, remain at the top of the table – one point ahead of Munich – after a 4-0 win over Cologne in the Rhineland clash.

Wolfsburg made a surprise lead after five minutes at the Allianz Arena when Leroy Sane’s error gave Maximilian Philipp a chance to kick hard into the net.

However Lewandowski scored his 250th goal when he headed in for Bayern’s equalizer before the break.

Lewandowski then blasted the winning goal into the corner in the 50th minute.
