LIVERPOOL: Jordan Henderson ended speculation about his future when he signed a new contract with Liverpool.

Henderson has agreed to extend his contract which will see him remain at Anfield until 2025.

Several previous reports have stated the Reds captain is considering leaving the team before new negotiations take quite some time.

However, negotiations were successful and he will remain with the team for at least 14 years since joining the Reds from Sunderland in 2011.

Liverpool spent most of the season retaining the backbone of Jurgen Klopp’s squad with Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk all already extending their contracts.

Henderson has so far made 394 appearances and scored 49 goals as well as guiding the team to win the English Premier League (EPL), Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.

He also won the League Cup in 2012 and was named the 2019 Player of the Year.
