PARIS: Lyon coach Rudi Garcia said his side “changed the situation” after captain Memphis Depay planned three assists in a 3-2 win over Strasbourg and recorded their first victory since August.

The Dutch striker baited for Zimbabwe international striker Tino Kadewere and repeated it twice for Karl Toko Ekambi in the first half.

Habib Diallo and Jean-Eudes Aholou scored for the hosts but Lyon continued to rise to ninth place with the first three points since August.

Strasbourg remains in 18th place with just one win this season.

“We really deserve to win. This team has the ability to change the situation,” Garcia said.

“The answer on the field, three assists by Depay and three goals in the open game.”

Depay, who was linked with a move to Barcelona earlier, almost created a fourth pass but Marcelo’s header was blocked at the goal line.
