LONDON: Arsenal thrashed Watford 4-1 in pre-season action but fans remained disappointed after they were once again booed by a defensive error.

The Gunners won big over the English Premier League (EPL) newcomers in closed action at London Colney but errors on the defensive side continued to haunt them.

The victory came through goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Kieran Tierney, Miguel Azeez and Eddie Nketiah.

Nketiah opened the scoring as early as the 15th minute but Arsenal gave Watford hope to bounce back after Mohamed Elneny lost the ball in their area.

The Egyptian tried to build an attack from below after receiving a short pass from Bernd Leno but the Watford man managed to snatch the ball from him before Philip Zinckernagel blocked the equalizer.

Arsenal fans were clearly furious with the simple mistake after they had previously lost 2-1 at the hands of Hibernian through a goalkeeper error.

They were also conceded twice from a corner in the 2-2 draw against Rangers and fans chanted ‘yes Arsenal same as before!’

Another supporter said ‘How are we going to be a serious team when players like Elneny and Willian are still playing for us.’

Arsenal were plagued by defensive errors last season which saw them finish eighth in the EPL.

Therefore, they hope that the presence of Brighton defender, Ben White who almost joined them with a value of 50 million pounds can solve the problem.
