LONDON: Thomas Tuchel does not need to rest long after being sacked by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) when he is now linked with Chelsea’s new manager.

The 47-year-old was sacked by PSG last week just four months after guiding the team to the Champions League final.

Tuchel received compensation of 5.4 million pounds (RM29 million) and was free to handle any team immediately.

According to German media, Bild, Chelsea may be the next destination for Tuchel if Frank Lampard fails to bounce back from three defeats in the current four league games.

Bild also reported that Tuchel is interested in becoming Chelsea manager and the opportunity to work with German internationals such as Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Antonio Rudiger.

Previously, Chelsea had been in contact with Tuchel when he left Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

Lampard was clearly under pressure when the Blues lost to Everton, Wolves and Arsenal, making it difficult for them to challenge for the league title.

Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, will almost certainly be PSG’s manager after the team finishes paying Tuchel.

PSG are currently third in Ligue 1 and the arrival of Pochettino will likely convince Kylian Mbappe to sign a new contract.

In addition, Pochettino is said to be targeting his former players, Dele Alli, Paulo Dybala and Lionel Messi whose contract will expire in June.
