Solskjaer Furious Not Getting Penalty

LONDON: Manchester United were disappointed by the VAR controversy during the 0-0 result against Chelsea in the English Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.

United, who are in second place in the league, are hoping to close the gap with Manchester City leaders with a win over Chelsea.

But they are now 12 points behind City after only recording one win in four games.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has yet to lose after nine games in all competitions since replacing Frank Lampard, but a draw is not enough to help them compete for a place in the top four.

In action at Stamford Bridge, United’s appeal for a penalty was rejected by referee Stuart Attwell after he saw a replay of the ball hit Callum Hudson-Odoi while trying to stop Mason Greenwood.

“It was a penalty, 100 percent. If that was the natural position for the barada hand there when the ball arrived, I might have been blind,” said United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Tuchel however disagreed with Solskjaer’s opinion.

“How can this situation involve VAR? I do not understand why the referee should examine it but I am glad it is not a penalty,” Tuchel said.
