BERLIN: Schalke 04 have not won in 30 league games – one less than the Bundesliga record set by the dwarf Tasmania Berlin.

Papers “That’s our record! Ra-Ra-Ra Tasmania (Original)” and “Save the record for the Bag!” placed in front of the Berlin Olympic Stadium before Schalke’s 0-3 defeat at the hands of Hertha Berlin.

Christian Gross, Schalke’s fourth coach of the season, faces defeat after Arsenal borrower Matteo Guendouzi, Colombian striker Jhon Cordoba and his successor, Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek blasted for Hertha.

“I hope to be able to sign one or two players, which can bring a bit of personality,” Gross said after witnessing his team’s latest defeat.

Schalke, who is at the bottom of the league, added to the strength of the team by defending Sead Kolasinac, who did not play against Hertha from Arsenal.

They will be waiting for Hoffenheim next Saturday and now just one game less to match the long-held league record of Tasmania Berlin, which went through 31 games without a win in the 1965/66 season.

Tasmania Berlin, based in Neukoelln, is currently playing in the fifth league of German football.
