LONDON: Manchester United plan to make Paul Pogba the highest paid player in the English Premier League (EPL) with a new deal worth 104 million pounds.

The 28 -year -old French star will enter the last 12 months of his contract and United are ready to offer him £ 400,000 a week over the next five years.

The Red Devils are desperate to keep the midfielder and do not want him to enter a new season without being tied to a new contract.

The club at Old Trafford is now ready to lay down new terms – a huge increase in his current salary of £ 290,000 a week.

His new salary will surpass the £ 375,000 -a -week salary earned by United team -mate David de Gea.

United will wait until Pogba finishes the Euros with France, before finalizing a new terms structure. Pogba had already held talks with agent Mino Raiola last year about plans for his future.
