CROSBY, United Kingdom: Marine manager Neil Young thanked Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho for bringing down his strongest squad as they thrashed the eight-division club 5-0 in the third round of the English FA Cup.

Carlos Vinicius blasted a hat-trick in the first half over a team with a 168 league position gap between them.

“I have to praise Jose Mourinho and his team, they show respect to us.

“In the end we just laughed at who needed to be put off the bench.

“I can’t ask for more from our players, they meet world class footballers which makes it very easy.

“I am proud of what we have achieved. The football community, especially Tottenham Hotspur supporters, is amazing.

“Most non-league clubs are struggling, so this is great for us,” Young said.

Without England captain Harry Kane, the Spurs still bring down their best squad with Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale starting at the bench.

Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Lucas Moura, as well as successor Kane Vinicius lined the Spurs starting line-up.

“I think the players are quite professional and they keep working until the end of the game,” Mourinho said.
