LIVERPOOL, England: Everton manager Frank Lampard praised Donny van de Beek after the midfielder on loan from Manchester United put in a good performance in a 3-0 win over Leeds United in the Premier League.
The 24 -year -old, who was paired with Allan in midfield, controlled the game as well as played a role in Everton’s opening goal scored by Seamus Coleman in the first half.
“I think Donny van de Beek is great. Playing like that at home – with composure, hard work and intelligence is a great thing,” Lampard said after recording his first win in the league as Everton boss.
“I think he can play a lot of roles and because of that I immediately got him. He has the talent to hook everyone and it brings us to the top. He also provides threats for goals, so it’s an advantage to bring him here.”
The Dutch international moved to United from Ajax Amsterdam in August 2020 but failed to secure a place at Old Trafford with him only starting in four league games before being loaned to Everton last month.
“Dele Alli is also active when he comes in. There will be more of them both. They are good players and I believe it will get better,” Lampard said.
