BUCHAREST: Serge Gnabry’s first-half goal was enough to give Germany a 1-0 win in the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Romania.
The Bayern Munich winger has already scored 15 goals in 19 appearances for his country.
Germany should have won bigger after making 18 accurate attempts, compared to just nine by the hosts.
“We should have taken the easy way out. We were lucky in the 90th minute when they almost scored the equalizer.
“We should have finished the game earlier and made our afternoon calmer,” Germany midfielder Joshua Kimmich said.
The win put Germany at the top of Group J by one goal compared to Armenia who also won their first two matches.
